Three Chicago Restaurants You Need To Check Out

When it comes to the big three American cities, Chicago’s usually the underdog. New York’s known for their thin-crust pizza, Los Angeles is known for its ever-inflating housing prices and scene of influencers. Chicago, despite having some of the strongest culture out of the three, can often be overlooked when it comes to their restaurant scene, so we’ve compiled a list of three local restaurants you need to check out.

Art of Pizza

Locations: 3033 N Ashland Avenue, 727 S State Street

The first restaurant on our list is Art of Pizza. If you’re in a big city, you’re going to want a slice of pizza. Art of Pizza is where you need to be. They’ve got good slices for affordable prices. They offer various styles of pizza, including thin crust, deep dish, and stuffed crust. This is alongside appetizers like mozzarella sticks and jalapeno cheddar poppers. Whether you need dinner for the family or you’re stopping by to grab a slice for lunch, Art of Pizza is the place to go for some savory Chicago pizza.

Al’s Beef

Locations: 3420 N Clark Street, 548 N Wells Street, 1079 W Taylor Street, 2804 N Western Avenue

Chances are if you’re in or visiting Chicago, you’ve heard of Italian beef. Usually Portillo’s is a go-to for a beef, but if you want a more authentic beef, Al’s is the way to go. You can grab one loaded with hot peppers and dipped in gravy or you can get it sweet and dry, complemented with a side of fries and a Chicago dog. The restaurant offers a bunch of other Chicago staples, as well, so make sure to stop by if you’re ever hungry in the city.

Jerk 48

Locations: 4335 W Madison Street, 548 E 67th Street

If you want some authentic Caribbean food, hit up Jerk 48. They’ve got Jamaican jerk chicken, jerk chicken nachos and jerk chicken & shrimp salad, all for affordable prices. If you’re hitting the city and you’ve got $10-$20 left in your pocket, stop at Jerk 48 and grab some meals that’ll keep you full.

Out of the three restaurants on our list, which one are you likely to try most? Chicago is big, but not terribly big, so chances are at least one of the locations on the list will be somewhat near you.
